The Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS) is a multi‑campus Irish university established in 2021, serving over 14,500 students across six campuses in Athlone, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary. Building on a long-standing regional tradition of education, TUS plays a key role in strengthening social and economic development by providing highly skilled graduates and fostering innovation. The university is committed to inclusivity, accessibility and strong community engagement, offering hundreds of programmes grounded in active, practice‑based learning.

TUS has a robust ecosystem for Research, Development and Innovation (RDI), supporting researchers, entrepreneurs and industry partners at regional, national and international levels. Its vision promotes excellence in multidisciplinary research aligned with European priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A central element of this work is the Sustainable Development Research Institute (SDRI), which drives projects in areas such as sustainable energy, climate action, rural development, social enterprise and educational technologies.

The university has a strong track record in securing European funding, including Horizon 2020, Interreg and Erasmus+. Its dynamic teams work closely with community, enterprise and public-sector organisations to ensure that TUS activities respond to regional needs and contribute meaningfully to societal progress.

Lascò SRL

Lascò is an innovative SME founded in 2013 that supports people and organisations in pursuing human‑centred innovation and digital transformation. The company specialises in innovation design and the development of digital solutions for formal and non‑formal education providers, companies and public institutions. Its work spans tailored technological solutions, research and development, and technology transfer.

A key area of activity is education and training, where Lascò – member of the EU Pact for Skills and the Digital Working Group of DG REGIO’s Harnessing Talent Platform – designs upskilling and reskilling programmes that promote digital, green and lifelong learning competences. It has led and partnered in multiple Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe projects, with two initiatives acknowledged as best practices by the UN Global Compact. Through its Young Changemakers Program, Lascò empowers youth with co‑creation labs and active learning experiences that foster innovation, entrepreneurship and community engagement.

Its multidisciplinary team includes instructional designers, project managers, sustainability experts and software engineers. With over 2,000 learners trained in the past two years and a strong transnational network, Lascò is an active contributor to Europe’s digital and talent ecosystems.

Femxa

Femxa is a training company specialized in training for employment, aimed at companies, public administration, consulting, professional offices, training centers and individuals. Its goal is to increase the competitiveness of organizations, employability, and professional qualification of people.
With more than 25 years of experience in the development and implementation of training plans in different business sectors, Femxa participates in all the processes involved in the teaching-learning process, from the analysis of the training needs of an entity, organization or public administration, to the design of the training plan that provides the specific solutions to these needs, through the development of materials and didactic means, the selection of teaching experts or advisors in the teaching process, the delivery of training activities both in training activities, in any type of teaching, and other activities (conferences, coaching sessions, workshops, conferences, etc.), financial management and dissemination of the projects.

 

IES Castelao

IES Castelao is a well‑established public secondary school with a dedicated teaching staff of around 64 professionals. The institution is strongly committed to providing high‑quality education and has an active track record in the Erasmus+ programme, particularly in adult mobility and professional development initiatives for educators. Through these projects, the school promotes international collaboration and enriches the global outlook of both teachers and students.

The school offers Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) for young learners (ages 11–16) and for adults, as well as Bachillerato in both daytime and evening formats. Within the standard pathway, students can choose between two specialised Bachillerato tracks: Science and Technology or Humanities and Social Sciences. Currently, IES Castelao serves 738 students, providing a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse academic interests and future career paths.

The school is recognised for its innovative teaching approaches and its commitment to continuous improvement. By combining strong pedagogical practices with active participation in European programmes, IES Castelao positions itself at the forefront of educational quality and international engagement.

I.S.I.S.S. Majorana

ISISS “Majorana”, located in Santa Maria a Vico (Caserta), is a large upper‑secondary institution serving more than 1,000 students aged 14 to 19. The school offers a wide and diverse educational portfolio across several pathways: a Scientific High School with Applied Sciences and Sports options; Technical Institutes in both the Economic and Technological sectors (including Administration, Marketing, Tourism, Chemistry, Construction, Electronics and Mechanics); and a Professional Institute focused on industrial and artisanal production and technical maintenance. All students study English as their first foreign language, while those in the tourism track also learn French and/or Spanish.

The school is recognised as a key cultural and social reference point in the region, actively contributing to community engagement and local development. Its Erasmus+ Project Team consists of highly motivated teachers from multiple disciplines, all with strong English proficiency and expertise in project design, communication, critical thinking and self‑management. The team ensures effective planning, implementation and follow‑up of international activities, supporting the school’s growing European dimension.

Agrupamento de Escolas Nº1 de Marco de Canaveses

The School Cluster No. 1 of Marco de Canaveses was created in 2021 through the merger of the Secondary School of Marco de Canaveses and the Toutosa School Cluster. Today, it serves a diverse educational community of 1,700 students, supported by 232 teachers and 77 non‑teaching staff. The cluster offers a comprehensive educational pathway from early childhood to the end of secondary education, ensuring continuity and accessibility for families across a wide geographical area.

Its secondary education provision includes four scientific‑humanistic courses—Science and Technology, Visual Arts, Socio‑Economics, and Languages and Humanities—alongside a broad range of professional and VET programmes. These include fields such as Health Assistance, Sports, Fashion Design, Accounting, Electronics, Automation, Computers and Multimedia. The cluster is composed of eight primary schools and kindergartens, the Toutosa Primary School (covering 2nd and 3rd cycles), and the Secondary School of Marco de Canaveses.

With its extensive and diversified offer, the cluster plays a central role in the region, responding to local educational needs and supporting students’ academic, personal and professional development.

Saint Mary’s National School

Saint Mary’s National School is a primary school in Ireland dedicated to delivering high‑quality education to children aged 4 to 13. With approximately 420 students and a team of 28 teachers, the school has built a strong reputation for excellence in STEM education, particularly in coding, robotics and computational thinking. Digital learning is deeply embedded across the curriculum, enabling pupils to develop essential 21st‑century skills through block‑based coding, digital storytelling and hands‑on technology projects.

The school is strongly committed to sustainability, actively integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into teaching and learning to foster global awareness and responsible citizenship. Staff members are highly experienced in educational technology and regularly lead professional development workshops for other educators, contributing to innovation at regional and national levels.
